Do's
- Loss or theft of any important travel related documents may be reported to the nearest Government of Bhutan Tourist Office / Police Station etc
- For any emergency medical assistance contact hotel or accredited hospital / nursing homes
- It is recommended that tourists follow local tradition / custom guidelines while visiting religious places
- Money exchange facilities are available at the Paro airport, Bhutan National Bank and the Bank of Bhutan, and at major hotels in Thimphu and Paro, all of which accept traveler's checks and/or dollars and various other currencies
- During summers light to medium woolens and during winters heavy woolen clothes are advisable
- Refuse food / drinks offered by unknown people
- Foreign tourists cannot purchase ngultrum (Bhutanese currency) prior to arriving in Bhutan
Topography and Climate
The climate of Tripura is influenced by its location in the north eastern part of India.
Tripura records a low average temperature of 10 degree Celsius in the winter season which rises to a maximum average of 35 degree Celsius in the summer.
The state of Tripura influences four distinguishable seasons. The winter prevails from the month of December to February. The months of March and April witness the premonsoon season. The longest season of the state is the monsoon season that continues between the months of May to September. Tripura receives maximum rainfall in the month of June. The state records an average annual rainfall of 2100 mm. Kamalpur in Tripura receives the maximum amount of rainfall of 2855 mm while Sonamura receives the lowest average of 1811 mm.

Tripura is best visited from October to May. Heavy seasonal rains from June to September often disrupt life and vital communications.
Important Information
Entry formalities-
There are no entry formalities like Restricted Area Permit or Inner Line Permit (RAP/ILP) to visit Tripura. The State is very close to Bangladesh and as such, foreign tourists coming from Dhaka or other cities of Bangladesh may come to Agartala via Akhaura Border Check Post. Similarly, foreign tourists coming to Tripura can enter Bangladesh via the same Border Check Post.
For the convenience of tourists, it is, however, advised that while coming via this route they are to intimate the Government of Tripura, Department of Information, Cultural Affairs & Tourism well in advance for necessary arrangement.
